$15,000 Electric Bill

In 2005 I was hit by another car, which resulted in me hitting a 3ft concrete pole that protected a electric transformer located on a shopping center property. The pole is no longer their,(I checked) & I was billed $15,000 by electric co. Now I'm waiting to hear from Public Works as Engineering don't show this pole, other than that, what can I do? No one answered my question on 2/15/07 Please Help me....

Re: $15,000 Electric Bill

Gather the evidence proving another person hit you and caused your car to collide with the barrier and/or transformer/pole.

Police reports, witness statements, photos, repair bils identifying damage to other parts of your car than what collided with the pole.

Submit that to the electric company and tell them they are after the wrong person and give them the name/address, etc. of the other car owner/operator.

Absent that you can refuse to pay, wait for them to sue and try to prove to the court/jury that someone else was entirely at fault and not you.

And what about involving your insurance company?
