How do i apply for my social security potential private pension benefits? And how do i keep my other family members from getting my share?

I'd ask the HR department at the company where private benefits may be available. If you got a notice from the SSA, it may show a number to call for whatever information the SSA may have.

As to the claims of other family members, legally speaking, you are the only one with rights to "your share," but to keep your legal share as high as possible, avoid complications such as divorce. At dissolution of marriage, pension rights are generally divided along with all other assets.
