Legal Question in Administrative Law in California

I am a college student in San Diego but have a Texas (my home) drivers license. My wallet was taken with allmy ID information and drivers license. Can I go to the CA DMV with a passport and somehow get a temporary license. The papers I have to filein Texas could take 6-8weeks.

Call up the DMV and ask them. If you have Calif. State Automobile insurance coverage, they might be able to handle your problem in their local full service Office where the lines are shorter and the clerk's more relaxed.

I would call the Texas DMV and see if they can issue you some sort of a temporary license from them.
