Forms for collecting judgment

I need to collect the judgment that has been ordered against the defendant. Are there any judicial forms for this?

Thank you

Re: Forms for collecting judgment

The most useful forms are Abstract of Judgment (if the judgment debtor owns real estate) and Writ of Execution (if the judgment debtor has a job or a bank account). The Abstract is recorded at the county recorder, and creates a lien on the judgment debtor's present or future real estate holdings, you get paid someday when the debtor dies or sells real estate. The Writ is given to the Sheriff along with instructions identifying the debtor's employer or bank, the Sheriff then goes and takes the money by force. Legalized bank robbery can be fun! You can also take, and auction off, the debtor's cars, boats, aircraft, real estate, growing crops, and securities.

My aspiration is to someday get a judgment against an airline and seize an Airbus.

Go the library, law library, law bookstore, or nolo.com and read Collect Your Judgment.

Collecting judgment can be done any number of many ways, including going after real estate (record an abstract to start), garnish wages, and levy property. You may want to consider a Judgment Debtors Examination also.

Tbere are a number of forms for the various procedures.
