Legal Question in Appeals and Writs in California

My boyfriend and I lived together for 9 months and just broke up a week ago. In June, we went together to Home Depot and Lowes to get some home decor for his house. Because he already had credit with these stores, I applied for a no payment/no interest for 12 month credit card. I was approved. At both these stores, together, we picked out home decor and verbally agreed that we would make payments on it together. He says that because we are broken up now, that he isn't responsible for it. I told him that because there was a verbal agreement to paying these credit cards off, that he should pay 50%. Who is right?!

If there was an agreement, then the agreement should remain in effect. In fact, you might argue that since he now benefits from the purchases (as you are no longer in the house which he owns), he should pay 100%, although that argument might be overreaching. I think you are being reasonable to insist that he pay 50% of the charges.
