canceled checks
my bank returns photo copies instead of original canceled checks i was contacted by sherriff dept. they have 2 of my bounced checks and a warrent for fraud. those same checks were in my bank statements as paid and cleared. what should my bank be required to do about this?

Under the electronic check law "Check 21," these types of check images are supposed to be as good as the originals to prove payment. Do not talk to the police, but if you are criminally charged give the check images to your lawyer.
