Legal Question in Banking Law in California

Check Endorsement

I want to sign a check over to my daughter that I received from someone else.

I know that if I just endorse it, it will be like sending cash.

What kind of wording could I use under my name that would restrict the cashing of the check by anyone other than my daughter?

Re: Check Endorsement

"Pay to the order of (daughter's name).

(Signed) (father's name as shown on front of check)."

Banks will hassle her when she attempts to cash or deposit the item, as her bank presumably does not know you; and it does not have recourse against you. At best they will demand that both of you present ID.
