Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California

child support arears paid as part of a chapt 13 in AZ.

5 years ago , I entered into chapter 13 in the state of arizona. At the time, I owed 22,000.00 in child support to the state of california. The state of california had already attached my check at that time. The bankruptcy stopped the attachment on my pay check and proceded to apply my back child support to the bankruptcy. I just got done paying off the bankruptcy which included all the child support. Now, the state of california has attached my check for penalties and interest which is around 6,000.00 bucks. I was under the impression that because of the bankruptcy, all interest and penalties would be dropped. My lawyer is not being helpfull at all in this matter. Can you tell me what I can do, or did my lawyer screw up, or is the state of california in the right to this.

Thanks

Robert s.
