Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California

Need to Collect my consulting service fee

I am an individual consultant. My client paid the consulting service I delivered to an agent company since I am not a preferred vendor. But the agent company did not pay me. They went bankrupcy. What can I do next?

Re: Need to Collect my consulting service fee

You will want to consult with a bankruptcy attorney in the area where the bankrupt company filed for protection. Depending upon the chapter of bankruptcy they filed under, you may need to take some action, or alternatively, there may be little you can do. You also have to analyze your cost-benefit of pursuing a bankrupt defendant - there does come a point where you are spending more than you will recover, and its better to walk away. This forum is not a good place to get specific advice as to what you should do in something like this.
