Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California

Copy of deposition for review

I was given a deposition 34 days ago 1/22/08. I have not been notified or received a copy to review and sign, even though it was discussed at the end of the deposition. Discovery was due by 1/31, status conference is 3/25. How long does the plaintiff have to comply with sending me deposition for review and signature?

Re: Copy of deposition for review

It's not necessarily the plaintiff's fault, but perhaps the court reporter's. If the transcript was not designated as "expedited" at the end, then the customary timeframe is within 3-4 weeks. It depends how long it takes for the reporter to produce it. It depends how much you talked, I suppose, whether it was hard to understand you so that the reporter had to go back to his/her notes and perhaps audiotape. Give the reporter's office a call. If you don't remember who it is, call the plaintiff's lawyer's secretary and ask for that information. Good luck.
