Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California
My dad put me and my brother on title of his home years ago. I removed my name from titel in 6/2009. I am currectly going thru a divorce and we have alot of debit. Can I file bankruptcy? I don't want them to go after that house which is paid off. I have never contributed to that house, as my husband and I had a home and that is why we took my name off.

You say you removed your name from title. Is your dad still alive? Who has title of the house now? Did you remove your name for value?
As for bankruptcy, whether the Trustee "goes after" the house will depend on many factors which is difficult to go over in this forum. Since the transfer was over 2 years ago, you may not have to disclose the transfer. However, if you transfered the property to avoid creditors, it may become an issue.
