Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California

I intend to file my Miller Bankruptcy prepared documents on February 1, 2013. I received a court summon filed by one of my credit card creditors a month ago and I was told to respond no later than February 10, 2013. Do I still need to respond even after filing chapter 7? Responding to summons incurs cost too. I'm really hurting.

No. File your bankruptcy and list the creditor and the creditor's attorney on the mailing matrix. They will receive a notice of your bankruptcy and all collection and legal activity should stop. If you wish, you could complete and file with the state court a notice of stay, and attach a copy of the bankruptcy notice to it.
