Legal Question in Business Law in California

Hi ! We're business owner here in California ,we own an auto shop here in hayward. We have an incident that a customer came in the shop and ask us to fix her headlights. We have a work order and she sign it.We fix the headlights and she paid for it and left. after 30 mins she called and start complaining about the brakes, she insisted that we did something on her brakes but we told her that we didn't touch anything on her car and we only replace the fuse on her headlights, after few arguments my husband offered to test drive the car for her to see if there is really something wrong with the brakes , she and my husband drive test the car and saw nothing wrong with the brakes, she even ask my husband to drop her off to her house.when my husband came back to the shop with her car 5 minutes past she called and told us that she need the car back she came back to the shop and took the car ,we ask her to sign a release form that she took the car and we wont be held liable for it , she won't sign because she want us to be liable for the days she would be driving her car and I think its unfair for us and she almost run him over(my husband). My question is do we have the right to refuse her because we felt that we're being abuse and she fooling us?

I'd say you have the right to refuse to do any further work for this lady.

Generally, a business cannot discriminate against a patron based on the patron's race, religion, nationality, sex preference, etc., but I think you can still tell the grumpy or difficult ones that you don't want their business.
