Legal Question in Business Law in California

I am a certified lifeguard. I have all the certificates, and training needed to be a lifeguard. I was wanting to start my own thing where people can hire me to lifeguard at their pool parties, or anything that may need a lifeguard. My problem with this is that I don't know if it's even legal to do this, and if it is, is there anything else, legally, I need to know? Thank you in advance for your help.

I suggest you ask the agency that certified you.

Three other suggestions. Talk to an insurance agent that specializes in policies for self-employed people or small businesses. Get a local business license. Obtain and read one or two books on how to start and run your own small business.

Finally, when you are on duty, remember that you are working, not joining the party.
