Legal Question in Business Law in California

Copyright laws

Can I print and sell merchandise (t-shirts, hats, etc.) with the name of a radio host. I will create the artwork and concept, but plan to use the persons name, and some of the phrases used on the show. Is this legal to do without the person's permission?

Re: Copyright laws

It is not a "copyright" issue, but you may not do so.

Re: Copyright laws

You would need the host's permission, and the permission of whichever entity owns the radio show and the host's phrases--all of that may be owned by the radio station or company syndicating the show.
