Legal Question in Business Law in California

I am interested in starting on online pay-per-view site possibly dealing with adult content. What kinds of laws and regulations should I be aware of and is it possible to obtain a loan for such a start-up?

As with any new business, you need to address the basics, such as:

1) The type of entity for your business and associated issues (i.e. LLC or corporation);

2) Protecting your intellectual property (Trademark);

3) Obtaining your domain name(s) so that you own the domains that help brand your site; and

4) A comprehensive terms of use, privacy policy and disclaimers.

Concerns that are particular to your intended industry have to deal with access by minors (COPPA laws, decency and obscenity laws, etc.). This is imperative to your success.

As with any business, if your business plan shows that you will be financially successful then you have a good chance of getting a loan, either from a traditional bank of from private investors.

Feel free to email me directly to discuss further.
