Can I use other companys logo, such as a vintage beer

advertisment, on clothing for a design?

Absolutely not. What you think their trademark laws in regard to that. Don't be stupid.

Re: use of logos on clothing

Without negotiating an agreement for use of the trademarked or copyrighted material you run the risk of litigation. Also, even if the item in question is out of production, such trademarks and copyrights may be the property of someone who has acquired them through purchase and the rights thereto are still valid.
