Legal Question in Business Law in California

I have this under notary public sign now i know that copying movies is illegal and can't be done by trading online what so ever.This is targeted for portable devices only like the ipod or pmp.When you buy a online movie it is in your hard drive and for portable devices you trasfer the movie to your device player.With a software can i trade movies online with others that have device players and are looking for movies to add to their devices.This service won't be allowed to copy movies and once you trade it,it won't be in your hard drive any more only in your portable media player.I want to know if this can be done.

I don't think so, because the intellectual property laws are given broad interpretation to protect copyright owners from profiteers, but for an authoritative answer, you should re-ask your question under LawGuru's intellectual property category.
