We provided a subcontractor work for a Public school can we still put a lien on the job?

No. You cannot lien public property. You MAY, however, have other important payment protection options, including the right to put a public works stop notice payment demand on the job or to make a demand on a payment bond. The rules for protecting your public works payment rights are very strict and rather complicated, however. It is very easy to blow requirements or deadlines, which are quite short. I agree with Mr. McCormick. You may be entitled to what is known as a "bonded stop notice." I suggest you speak to an attorney competent with these types of claims.
