Legal Question in Business Law in California

I run a small computer repair company from home. A few days ago, a customer came to my home to drop off a computer for repair. She had her autistic son with her. He knocked over my childrens Wii, which now no longer works. I asked them to pay for repairs ($85). They refused, saying they didn't feel obligated to pay. The husband started by saying "I used to study law..." and I knew right away they were going to screw me. In cases like this, who is legally responsible for repairs?
