Legal Question in Business Law in California

severance pay

2 years ago an upper manager for a large mortgage company had let one of his duties slide that cost the company several milions dollars. The company felt it best that they parted ways but agreed to have the split a ''mutual'' agreement seeing no one at fault. he then recievedback vacation pay , sick pay and a severance pay for a year.

This week my wife had been let go from the same company in a massive cutback. She Held or holds the same title with around the same income for about the same amount of years with the company as the first employee and yet only had been given 3 months in severance pay. Is that right?

Re: severance pay

Time has elapsed. What about the other people being let go. Is any male in the same boat as your wife and getting more severance pay? Then, you can claim -- perhaps -- gender discrimination. Otherwise, severance is at the company's discretion.
