Re: Starting a compnay

Look through my recent answers; I answered a very similar question at great length a few days ago. The bottom line is "likelihood of confusion" in the marketplace. Someone who is doing plumbing in San Francisco can call himself Acme Plumbing even though there are 100 other Acme Plumbings in the USA, because the likelihood of consumer confusion and resulting damages is very small. On the other hand, if you bought an airplane and started calling yourself American Airlines and selling tickets, you'd be in big trouble real quick.
