Legal Question in Business Law in California

I am wondering when term limits begin for a new non-profit board in CA.

I filed my tax-exempt form in June of 2014. I spent the next 18 months building the organization. In January of 2016 I filed my statement of information and submitted by-laws. Did my term as president begin when filed the 501 paperwork, or when I submitted the bylaws?

Are term limits mentioned in your articles of incorporation or bylaws? If so, that may be where you must look for term limits and how they are to be construed. Insofar as I can tell, California corporations law does not limit the term of non-profit corporation officers, See Corporations Code section 5213, especially subpart (b) which says that officers shall serve "at the pleasure of the board."
