Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California

What if you have a blank cd owned by your employer and they asked you to put music on it for a dance recital. A few weeks later you are let go and you take the cd because it has your music on it. Is the cd property of the employer? Or your property because it's your music?

If done on company time the work is owned by the employer, but it should reimburse you the ten cents for the CD.
