Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California

Daycare people are taking vacation in very short notice and when we asked why you are taking 2 weeks off this year when you took only 1 week vacation last year... they are yelling at us saying "read the contract" , we have already gave a 1 month notice to move our child as we are not satisfied with their service, so there vacation includes the last week of our one month notice... typically they are trying to get one week money for free... this has happened before also, for spring break they will say they are on vacation and will not let regular kids come in and they will let other kids going to schools come in, so that they will get extra money. We are worried of our kid's safety and i am not sure whether all these are legal for a particular day care to do... If i decide to move him before the completion on 1 month they are threatening us that we have to pay them for 1 month as per the contract... CAn you please let me know what can we do about this and whether all the above activities are legal ... donno under which area this comes

Child care facilities are licensed by the State of California. I recommend you review the website for the California Department of Consumer Affairs. You may also want to contact the Community Care Licensing agency which generally focuses on safety at child care facilities but may also review inappropriate business practices.
