Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in California

I am considering getting a restraining order on the plaintiff (ex-boyfriend) that has just served me with papers in small claims court in my county for gifts that were given during the course of our short-term dating i.e. (hotel room cost, gloves, manicures/pedicures we enjoyed together, etc) in the amount of $6000? I had to move out of my apartment because I feared him at one point and did not want him to know where I lived>He tracked down (now 1 year later) my place of employment with these and has filed this suit? I am shocked.

I have been in a relationship for the last 6 months and am have never given him another thought? Shall I counter sue for my stress and moving expeses? He lives in a different state we were dating when I was on location for work but we never had sexual relations because I ended the relations before it got that far because he would constantly harass me? Please advise?

It sounds liike the primary goal of your ex- was to harass and annoy you by delivering the legal documents to your workplace. If he made no threat of physical harm, however, you do not seem to have any grounds for a civil harassment claim. On the other hand, if in the past he threatened physical harm and you moved to another state to flee and now he has tracked you down after months of peace, you might have grounds to fear for your safety and apply for a restraining order.
