Legal Question in Technology Law in California

I did some background investigating on my own. I interpreted the information I obtained from the internet to base a review on Yelp after viewing several positive statements about an individual. If the review I made is viewed as defamatory or sheds a false light on a specific individual can I be sued since it is my own interpretation of the information I gathered? I have heard through a third party unaware of this review that attorneys have been contacted and anyone found associated with making this statement will be dealt with accordingly. What is that supposed to mean? Can I be sued?

Yes, you can be sued. But without knowing what you said, there is no way we can evaluate your chances in such a lawsuit -- or how likely it is that a lawyer would take the other person's case.

Whether your "review" (it sounds like that's not really what it was) defamed someone or showed her in a false light largely depends upon what you said and in what context. All you have given us is a few words about how you gathered your information. That is not nearly enough to offer you any useful guidance.
