Have business license but where can I...

Now that I have a business license for web design business out of my home office from the city I reside in, can I provide my services to someone in a different state or am I confined to my city limits/jurisdictions?

Re: Have business license but where can I...

Generally, you can do business anywhere, but if you open an office or travel to other cities/counties, their business license regulations may come into play. For example, if your home office/residence is in X City, but you travel to consult with and work for clients into the City of Los Angeles twice a week, the City of Los Angeles says you must register for their business license, as well. So in some circumstances, you may need more than one business license, but if you physically do all your work at home, then you would generally only need what you have.
