Legal Question in Technology Law in California

Internet Privacy

I am 19 years, and completely independent of my parents, even when applying to college I received a dependency override by the school.

With that being said, my parents have just started contacting me through emails. Today I open an email from them, and it's literally all of my emails that have been sent or received from my account copied and pasted back to me. In other words, he is hacking my computer, and my email.

To make things worse, he's doing it on FBI time, with FBI resources, because thats where he works.

Is this hopeless and will he always be able to spy and hack me or is there something I can do?

Thanks

Re: Internet Privacy

If your father is an FBI employee, it sounds like he's using government resources for unofficial purposes, and may be guilty of some crimes.

You can certainly report this to his superiors or to the Attorney General's office. But, if you do so, it may create some real problems for your family. Its also likely that they'll investigate YOU, so be sure this is what you want to do.

You COULD implement an encryption system, which would make it much harder for them to read your email... but that's not without its hassles.
