Legal Question in Technology Law in California

Website protection

Hi, I have an idea for a website that,

while original as a whole, is basically

just a combination of various aspects

of other, pre-existing websites. Is

there any way to legally protect this

idea (as these aspects haven't been

combined before)? Is there some

kind of website patent of sorts?

Re: Website protection

There are ways to protect some ideas, and this is an issue I have some familiarity with. There are even more options for doing so when it is something that can be, for instance, patented, copyrighted, trademarked, or be held a trade secret or other. Each case is different and many specific issues come up for which I would need to get into specifics. You may have issues re protecting your intellectual property, and also others' issues in protecting their intellectual property from you. You may contact my office if you are serious about your project and hiring an attorney.
