Legal Question in Constitutional Law in California

student rights violated

Three weeks ago, my daughter, a 20 yr.old student at a private California 2yr college, was placed on medical leave.

Daughter sought medical treatment in Boston. She returned to contract housing, (paid in full), to recover her personal belongings. She was with a 2 friends, an LA fireman and student from Northeastern. She was refused entry to recover her belongings at contract housing location, and physically assaulted by the security guard. She filed charges of A&B, and larceny with both friends providing witness statements to LAPD. prevented access to a unit that she is a tenant in. How many violations do you count of her rights? We want her to graduate, and plan to sue the school as she has been targeted by housing personel in response to my written complaints. Housing has not returned my calls, and the Director of the school had sided with housing. My daughter does not yet have her property, and I hope that come this Monday, the freight company will find the ''shell'' under which the school has confiscated her property.

Re: student rights violated

You need to retain counsel in California as soon as possible. Do not take any actions by yourself. You could get into trouble that would merely complicate an already bad situation. However, the type of assistance that you need (and quickly) is not something that can be handled here. Get a local attorney to help you.
