Is there a privacy issue when a defendant (the contractor being sued for lost rents) subpoenaes the homeowner's (plaintiff's) insurance records when he was the general contractor on a burn out project. Plaintiff is claiming lost rents, among other claims.

No, there is no privacy issue. Insurance policies are within the proper scope of discovery.
