Can someone file a lien on your property without a contract?

Going on the premise that you're talking about a claim of mechanics' lien, the answer is yes. There are any number of entities who can record a claim of mechanic's lien on property even if they had no direct contract with the owner, such as materials suppliers, subcontractors, laborers, union trust funds, etc.
