not paying

Did work for owner of property, work with owner directly completing project

I have sign contract, has not paid any $ can I place a lien on property did I need to file 20-Day notice.

I was not working as sub contractor what can I do to collect

You can file a Mechanic's lien if it is timely. You can also take the owner to small claims court if the demand is within court limits ($7,500.00)

Note that if you record a lien, you must file a law suit to perfect the lien within 90 days of recording.
