Can a business copy a driver's license in California?

There is no law I know if that prevents a business from copying a license. Many will ask for a copy for their file for various reasons, but you haven't posted any details about the business and why they're asking, so I can't guess.

If they use the information on there for illegal purposes, that's another story.
