Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

CA Coupon Expiration date - any updates?

Has anyone researched or know of any updates regarding a possible ban (?) of expiration dates on coupons in the state of California? Previous thread at: http://www.lawguru.com/cgi/bbs/mesg.cgi?i=418360119

From what I've found, gift certificates are not allowed to have expiration dates in CA, but is there any info about coupons?

Thank you in advance for any help!

A gift certificate is a contract, a coupon is only an offer to enter into a contract. You can look up California law, and pending bills, at www.leginfo.ca.gov . The existing law is in the Civil Code.
