Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

Credit Invoice

A business issued me a credit invoice. They were to pay me the money due within 30 days. Sixty days later I called them as I hadn't received my credit due. They said due to a mistake of their employee, the amount due me had changed. So I would be receiving less than I was due on the invoice. Can they change the amount due me even though they issued me the original invoice stating a different amount?
