Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

harrassing phone calls at work from finance co

my daughter is behind four payments on her 2002 mustang convertible..she was working five yrs and the co..folded..so then she didnt work again for four months more..now she has a good job as senior secretary to cancer research doctor but the finance company has someone there calling and threatening her at work..she paid three weeks ago and now they want another 1300 in one week...she got dizzy and anxiety attack so called me to come get her from work, she was a mess, crying and so upset..so i called and told the guy off and told him to come get the car today..well i followed through and spoke with vp of company of which tried to figure something out for her, but at the same time we want something done about this character..do we have a right to suit for her loss of time at work and mental anguish over this for two months or more??make two payments in one week and then 1/2 a payment in three weeks..and 1 1/2 payments for a couple of months..i am not at all happy with this guy though..very mean...and very unprofessional...thank you..

Talk to a collections attorney. Calling someone at work may be a violation of the FDCP. Try Consumer Law Center at (408)294-6100.
