Legal Question in Consumer Law in California

Who's Responsible?

I recently co-signed for my son on an auto loan.

My son was given possession of the vehicle before insurance was obtained. Within a tree week period, my son lost control of the vehicle and hit a curb.

The vehicle sustained 7000.00 dollars in damage.

At the same time he lost his job and can no longer make the payments of 380.00 per month. I am in the process of making the payments, as agreed when I co-signed. I am also having the vehicle repaired!

Who is really responsible for the repaires?

Car dealer?

Loan company?

My son?

Or myself?

Thank You

Sincerely;

Re: Who's Responsible?

Your son and you are responsible as co-signers. You should also immediately get insurance for the vehicle, or the loan company will buy it for you.
