If I signed a Gym service contract in California doesn't it have to abide by CA law?

Read The Friendly Contract. For all I know your contract says that it must be interpreted under the laws of Uzbekistan. However, there are California laws that regulate gym membership contracts. Visit the Dept. of Consumer Affairs at www.dca.ca.gov .
