Under California law, is it usurious for a private golf and country club to charge delinquent members ''late fees'' of ten percent (10%) per month compounded monthly? Monthly dues are about $350, trail fees are $50, and other charges vary from month to month depending upon usage. If no, how much could a private club (without written permission from a majority of the members)tack on as late fees?

If you are having trouble paying your country club bills on time, or late fees concern you, maybe it's time to scale back your lifestyle.

Maybe you could try joining a bowling league?
