Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

auto repoe'd from police hold/ no late payments owing

Finance company repossessed my truck without notifying me first. I received notification letter 4 days after they had truck. All payments were current and I intended on picking up my truck the day it was released by police. Now finance company is charging me repo charges, storage charges, charges for storage of my personal property that was in the truck, plus charges I have to pay to police yard, and total owing on truck. Repo charges were originally quoted as $150 and now they are saying $500. No bottom line figure is being given to me; what are my rights? Thank you.
