Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Hello. In California when served by US mail with ''request for admissions'' (civil case, debt collectors) - does one have 30 or 35 days to respond? On their papers, it says '30 days' yet I've always been told that response time by mail is 35 days? If so - is stating '30 days'' considered to be inaccurate information? And could I request an updated version?

No. You have 30 days from date of service. When served by mail, the date of service is deemed by law to be five days after mailing. That's why you have 35 days from the date of mailing, but the statement is correct that you have 30 days from the date of legal service.
