Collection Agencies

Can Collection Agencies or their attorneys put a lien on my

vehicles or property on charges I have disputed in total of

15K. Thank You.

A collection agency cannot put a lien on your property unless you voluntarily give it to them or if they sue you and obtain a judgment.

A lien can only be placed on real or personal property if a judgment occurs and a writ of execution is obtained thereafter. Apart from that, such a lien can only be voluntarily placed. If you would like further assistance, contact us directly.

A collection agency must first obtain a judgment aginst you. If no lawsuit was filed, the collection agency may have violated the Federal Fair Debt Collection Act by certain threats. Please contact me if you have any other questions.
