Collection Letter To A 10 Year Old Child

Is it legal for a collection agency to send a letter demanding payment to a 10 year old child? My grandson has received 2 such letters addressed only to him, not parent of, etc.

Re: Collection Letter To A 10 Year Old Child

A 10 year old is not liable contractually unless it is for necessities. It sounds like there may be a name confusion with an adult that lives with you. We will have to revew the letter and ask for verification of the debt. Please fax your correspondence to me at 714 363 0229 and include your phone number. I will call you and advise you if you have a case or what to do to resolve your problem.
