Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

co-signer

i bought a truck with my x husband. I am the primary he is the co-signer. He hasn't had the tags renewed. The state has made a final demand for payment of the renewal. Do I have any rights to the truck.

The answer to your question depends on who is on title. You mentioned that you are a co-signer on the loan, but only if you are on title do you have a right to the truck.

Otherwise, you either have to have the state force him to pay (as the person on title), or if you are on title, you can repossess the vehicle, or you can pay the tags, and sue him for reimbursement.
