Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

Re: Debt Collection

I'm being sued for a credit card debt I had less than 2 years ago. The amount is for $1, 155. If I decide to hire a lawyer and pay the company who's suing me, how long does it usually take for this matter to get resolved?

Re: Re: Debt Collection

Call the lawyer for the creditor, tell him/her you will pay in a lump sum, and get a written agreement that the case will be dismissed in exchange for payment. Have a lawyer review the written agreement if you're unsure of its meaning.
