Re: debt creditors

A consumer debt is "money, property or their equivalent, due or owing or alleged to be due or owing from a natural person by reason of a consumer credit transaction." If the creditor is trying to collect a "consumer debt", then it would be illegal for them to continue to contact the debtor at work. If it was a non-consumer debt such as from a failed business, then continued contact would not be specifically illegal. However, it might violate the more general laws prohibiting harassment. You should consult a local attorney regarding this matter.
