Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in California

A friend borrowed some money from me, and when I was trying to collect her payments she gave me a hard time about it. After a month or so of fighting with her via texts we came to the conclusion that she was to pay me a monthly of $60 on the 25th. When the 25 came around I still had to fight her for a payment. She told me that she racked up bills and was paying them off, but I recently found out she's visiting Cali for 2 weeks, and also going to Hawaii for another week. I would let it go but she borrowed $500. We don't have a contract .. What should I do?

Contracts do not have to be written. You may be able to enforce through a court proceeding. It may depend on where you both live but you can get a judgment against her.
