My husband passed and I am finding medicals bills insurance did not cover, am I responsible to pay.

It would depend on what agreement you made, if any, with the medical providers, and on what community property there is, if any.

In most cases like this, I have been able to keep the creditors from attempting to collect from the surviving spouse.
